- 2015 - A Blessed Year

What's the best way to end 2014 and welcome 2015? Well, there are many ways to choose but for me, I choose to end my 2014 and welcome 2015 with all warriors of God :) IT'S DAVID WARRIOR CAMP ONCE AGAIN! Yayy!

Is kinda excited for me because there's no David Warriors Camp in 2013/14 due to the change of weekend to Friday and Saturday. So here's the place that I spent my last day of 2014 and the first day of 2015.

Wahh, looks great isn't it? This place is really good for those workaholic to relax themselves because the scenery is very nice and it is very quiet. Most importantly! The phone signal is not very strong in that area so it is a good time for those workaholic to rest. This place is called -Kulim Eco-TRAIL Retreat Ulu Tiram-

So, let me share my story of the last day in 2014 and the first day of 2015 here with everyone :)
Basically all of us enjoy playing in David Warrior Camp, here is the story!

Let's take a picture before the game start! :)

All of us gather in the hall and waiting for instructions.

All of us went into our group according to the name list and have a ice-breaking time with the members before we went out to outdoor and play!

These awesome people are our instructors during the camp. They lead us in every activity. And here's the first activity.

All of us lining up according to the group list.

As you can see from the picture above, each of us are given a balloon. And we are require to put the balloon between our stomach and the back of the person in front of us. With our hands on the head, we have to walk by making sure the balloon won't fell off before reaching the finishing line.

-The moment when your balloon fell off...-
Ok, that's me. Haha. What to do after your balloon fell off? The whole group has to stop for 10 seconds. And you have to pick up the balloon quickly and back to your position and wait to continue after 10 seconds.

This is the second activity. Everyone were given a pipe which has been cut in half. We need to pass as many marbles as we can using the pipe in a limited time. As you can see from the picture above, my groupmates are testing the game.

We lined up in a straight line.

The scene looks so beautiful! :)

I believe that this activity is quite familiar to everyone. Is the who has the longest line then they'll win the game! In this activity, we have to use anything from our body to make a line.

Unfortunately, the instructors don't allow use ourselves. Hahaha. So, what our group did was all the guys sacrifice their shirts.

Apparently my group won in this activity. Hahaha. We even make a u-turn for the line! Can you imagine how long is the line?

How can we don't play water in a camp? Of course there is water! So this is the third activity. There are big containers with a lot of holes on it. In this activity, we must try whatever method we can to cover up the holes and fill in as many water as we can.

Everyone is using their body to cover the holes. After that what to do? Fill in the water! Yay!

Everybody is so desperate for the water. Hahaha. We have another activity which involves water also!

As you can see from the picture, there's a [pool] I supposed. In this activity, each group were given 6 bamboos, 9 black strings, 18 green strings and 3 containers. We need to figure out how to make a bridge to let 3 of the heaviest people in the group to cross the pool. Sounds interesting isn't it?

Everyone is trying their best to tie all the bamboos and containers together.

Okay, it's time to use the bridge. My group was the first one to present our bridge. For your information, the pool is quite deep. The depth of the pool is equal to half of the bamboo. So, the people who are going to cross the bridge are required to wear a life jacket.

There you go! Into the pool. Looks so scary...

Eventually most of us fail to cross the bridge. Hahaha. But we did try to cross it when it was upside down. But to be honest, this activity help us to build relationships with each other. The process is always better then the product. :)

After all the fun time, we have some time to wash up and having our dinner. After dinner, we have a short sharing time by Pastor Gideon. After sharing time, is our time to share our testimonies.

After sharing time, we split into groups according to our cell group umbrella. We shared what we want to improve in year 2015 and some word of encouragements. After that we have a short prayer time.

Is camp fire time! All thanks to the instructors for planning such wonderful time for us. This was the time we all are waiting to countdown.

Not only camp fire time, we also have some performances by the instructors!

OMG! Did you see that!? I seriously don't know how they do it. Looks so scary to me.
After all these awesome performances from the instructors, it's time to countdown! Yeahh! They even prepared fireworks for us! So nice right? But too bad I don't have the pictures here.

So that's how I spend the last day of 2014. After countdown we all dancing around like nobody's business. It is quite fun! :)

Here comes the story of my first day of 2015 :)

Early in the morning after breakie and devotion, we had photo taking session! Yeahh!

Ok, enough for all those funny selfies. Let the game begins!
Here comes the first station: The obstacles station! Basically what we did was need to overcome all the obstacles. You can see it in the pictures below.

Luckily this is not a mud. Hahaha. If not all of us will be like: NOOOOO!

This is the third activity because I don't have pictures of the second activity. So, we went to have a ride on bicycle! It was a wonderful experience! It has been so long since I ride on a bicycle.

After this we had tree climbing session! I never climb a tree before! It was a great experience to me. :) This is us, listening to the instruction before we climb the tree.

Me and Eevon. She's the one who is going to climb the tree and I'm helping her out.

Everything is done! Time to climb the tree! Hahaha.

And this was me, climbing the tree half way. Ignore my face please.

Reaching the tree soon! Yayy! To be honest it is quite hard to climb the tree. It was very tiring, but worth a try :)

So that is how I spend the first day of 2015. It was fun I can say, I learned many things in this camp. Although year 2014 is a quite challenging year to me, but I thank God that I've been through it. Not by myself but with God and those brothers and sisters and my friends and family.

2015, a brand new year. Let us just take a minute and think about all the things that happened in 2014. Remind ourselves not to repeat those mistakes, repent to God for what we've done wrong in 2014.

2014 is now a past and 2015 is a new beginning. We shall all move on to the goals that we want to achieve in year 2015. Here's a bible verse to share with everyone :)

"but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" -Isiah 40:31-

Be strong and do not be discouraged, for God is always by our side :)

Have a blessed 2015!

Love,
Caryn Sim
